Great you managed to solve it yourself quickly. Hopefully the wifi support for your card will get more stable.

Maybe you just have to install "ca-certificates"? It is an optional dep for openssl and thereby also for links only.

Hm, that wifi-menu status is  not a lot for others to help you debugging. Maybe you - try the manual connection: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wi … nual_setupto see where it fails exactly.

Do you see discard enabled in the output of: dmsetup table /dev/mapper/vgarch --showkeys after boot ?

To your first question: No, you dont need wpa_supplicant if it is unencrypted. To the second: Post the exact device-id of the wlan card (the relevant line of lspci -nn or lsusb) and which driver you use with it. Also look at the iwconfig basic output.

You have to use "sudo" for scanning. Maybe it's just that ?Try sudo iw dev wlan0 scan Also check, you have the firmware loaded
