Unable to Display English Characters in GNOME Desktop

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi, I have just installed Fedora 17 from the text mode installation. After the text mode installation, I issued the following command yum groupinstall "X Window System" Desktop But I get garbage on the screen when I am starting the GNOME GUI environment. This question is primarily for my own education. I first tried to install Fedora 18 choosing the Gnome desktop option, but the desktop was unusable after logging in (the appearance was of a font with mostly blank characters and occasional colored backgrounds). Later, I was successful at an install with the LXDE desktop choice.

I just installed Ubuntu on my asus eeepc 1201hab machine and something is off. Even during installation half of the screen would not be in use and when trailing the mouse around little patches of boxes appear. Another weird thing about this installation is that when I push my cursor all the way to the top the reemerges from the bottom of the screen. I haven't touched the Xorg configuration.

Hi everyone.

Yesterday I tried to install Fedora 12 on my PS3 with the Fedora12 PPC dvd.

The problem is that the installation process never asked me which package I want install. It just installed the minimal system. After the installation, I just can use my Fedora with command line.
