Hello guys. My name is Ovid. I'm using Fedora 16 on my TOSHIBA C660 Laptop. I want to configure my network internet with ppp0. (PPPoE)
I set up with pppoe-setup, but doing pppoe-start, it's not starting.
If I do ifconfig, I don't see eth0 or ppp0, i see p17p1 or something like that.
How should I do?
I am using CentOS release 5.4 (Final) in my x86_64 machine (Linux 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP).
I try to connect my client machine (user: aluppp) with userspace pppoe-server.
pppoe-server fails to send out PADS frames back to client.
Client cfg (pppd/2.4.5/rp-pppoe.so):
hi im trying to connect to pppoe with rp-pppoe
but after configuring with pppoe-setup ,
when i trying to pppoe-start or ifup ppp0
nothing happens !!
i did some searches and i think its maybe for "Ethernet interface" which seems its not eth0 any more!
tnx guys ;)
I have some investigative research to do into PPPoE and a wireless modem device. I'm have been using rp-pppoe by Roaring Penguin to start a pppoe session as a client. Whilst watching packets being sent by said program (using wireshark), I have noticed that there is no difference when the -s (synchronous mode) option is set or not.
