At work I use a Dell Latitude E4300 with a resolution of 1280x800 and an external monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024. I'm runnin g Natty on it with Gnome 3. Everything is working OK, but the desktop seems to be 1024 pixels high on both screens, so it extends past the bottom of the laptop's screen, which makes using any sort of dock or just a bottom panel pretty annoying.
I have Dell 7520 with AMD Raedon 7XXXM graphics card, thankfully, I got to make it work. But the problem now is screen resolution, as I have screen resolution of 1920 X 1080 for 15.6" laptop, which is way too much. In the Display Monitor settings, I cannot change it to whatever I want, only the resolution with 16:9 works perfectly.
I have a Dell Inspiron 4000, 900 Mhz Pentium III, 192 MB RAM,10.1 GB disk running Lubuntu 12.04. When I start the computer, and I check the display resolution, Monitor Settings claims that the max resolution is 1024x768.
Just after the release I installed Lubuntu 12.04 on an old ThinkPad T43 with a 1024x768 resolution display.
This T43 is also often used in a dock connected to an old 19" Dell LCD monitor with 1280x1024 native resolution via a standard VGA-cable.
Every time the T43 was booted in the dock with the Dell monitor it has been necessary to manually change resolution using the auto setting.
Hello.
I have a Dell Latitude C840 with a nVidia GeForce4 440 Go card and the screen is reported to go to 1600x1200, 32 bpp on Wikipedia.
But im unable to choose that resolution in Slackware. last time i changed the resolution to a higher one i needed to edit the xorg.conf, and change the HorizSync setting to match the monitor.
ok so for starters, im using BT5R3, no probs.
i have an EEE pc 1005HAB and it has a intel GMA 950 chipset.
my primary laptop monitor's resolution is 1024x600, works no problem.
my secondary monitor which is to the right of monitor0, is running at 1024x768.
the problem is, my 2nd monitors native resolution is 1600x1200.
I have 2 monitors. On the left I have a Dell 1704FPT and on the right I have a Dell E177FP.
I'm testing various flavors on Linux this way before I commit and install.
Today is my first ever try at Ubuntu/Xubuntu, and the standard video is 1024x768. My VGA CRT monitor is capable of higher resolution, and on this 17 inch monitor, only about half or less of a page shows before I have to start scrolling.
I am newer to Ubuntu. Recently I bought Intel® Core™ i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz (Intel HD Graphics 2000 display) with Dell IN2030M monitor. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS version. My problem is, I can't change my screen resolution >1024 because the monitor was not detected, it says Unknown. Help please.
