Three will debut the phone on its LTE network at launch and is offering two tariffs, each with an upfront cost of £69 for the device. Consumers can choose between the two offered tariffs, one that costs £34 per month called the “Ultimate Internet 500 tariff” and another for £2 more called “The One Plan” which features unlimited data and the ability to tether. Pricing for the U.K.’s first 4G/LTE network, 4GEE, which is due to launch on October 30 was announced earlier this week but despite offering five consumer phone tariffs, and a variety of add-ons, there are no unlimited data packages at all. Yet the company does offer unlimited tariffs on its 3G T-Mobile brand (on the Full Monty tariff).

The U.K.’s first — and currently only — 4G network, run by carrier EE, has announced it is increasing the size of the data caps on some of its mobile broadband tariffs by around 60 percent, while keeping its pricing structure the same.

Vodafone UK has come up with a new twist for potential buyers of smartphones on their network. Dubbed Vodafone Red Hot, users sign up for a pair of 12-month contracts. The first is for a typical data plan that includes unlimited voice and text and up to 2GB of data. The second contract is to “hire” the device you select.

Pricing for the U.K.’s first 4G/LTE network has been revealed. The new 4GEE tariffs start at £36 per month for a plan with a mere 500MB of data, and rise to £56 for an 8GB plan. The 4GEE network, a joint venture between the Orange and T-Mobile carrier brands — which merged to create the Everything Everywhere joint venture (now EE) back in 2010, is due to go live on October 30.

U.S. carrier AT&T is looking at counterparts in Europe with a view to making a big purchase or entering into a merger, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
