I have a z77 Asrock Extreme 4 board with the latest uefi firmware (2.90). I can't boot into uefi mode from the official Slackware64 dvd. When I select the cdrom/uefi entry from the uefi boot menu it goes to a blank screen with the text "grub" in the top right corner. It then freezes. The board boots into uefi with a fedora usb.
I have a non-UEFI motherboard (Asus P5Q), I was having problems and it appears that this could be due the motherboard not supporting UEFI? If so can I do anything (apart from buy a new motherboard) to get F19 to work or should I get F17?
Well, I understand that it could be specific motherboard issue but Asrock technical support hasn't answered yet. Perhaps somebody has run into the same problems with some other motherboards booting in UEFI mode, I mean power supply power off problem and awakening with usb-keyboard when this option is present in a UEFI BIOS.
