I am booting with the 12.04 64bit Desktop CD. The only thing is, I get the problem:
{{example}}:
Code:
udevd-work [95]: inotify_add_watch(6, /dev/sdb5, 10) no such directory
I can hear Ubuntu in the background. I have heard that installing crytsetup will correct this issue, but how to boot into terminal in the first place. How to do an install in the first place to install this package?
I'm trying to install ubuntu 12.04.1 64bit on a MSI GT70 ONC. I have a problem when I install it. I get an error(dev/... something missing I think) I'm then put into a screen that is like the terminal. I know I'm not installing the server version.
I have tried re-downloading and installing the 12.04.1 64bit by putting it on a CD.
Hi,several times during the boot process I can find such error messages in my journal:Jan 03 13:32:19 herbie systemd-udevd[242]: failed to execute '/usr/lib/udev/usb-db' 'usb-db /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2': No such file or directory

I'm trying to boot a Fedora rawhide LXC container from a Fedora 16 host, and it's not working - systemd just keeps dropping into emergency mode. Because udevd doesn't work in LXC containers, I thought I'd try disabling udevd inside the guest, but I can't manage to do this.
You'd think that
systemd disable udevd.service
would do the trick, but it doesn't.
Hi!
Ubuntu 11.10 won't install for me.
I am on a fully updated system not running any testing repos and I have multilib enabled. With the new update to udev I am getting a meesage while its starting on boot that I am not sure about, and never saw this until now.

The only version of Ubuntu that runs on my system is 10.10 - I have no problems with it. Well, I do: inotify_add_watch pops up in a terminal-like-window in 10.10 but then Ubuntu goes on to continue. However, with 12.04 inotify_add_watch just hangs on the screen and there is not a thing I can do to continue on - I know the system starts up in the background too, which is rather annoying.
When waiting for udev, I get these errors on boot. Sometimes, it times out; other times, system freezes.
