Mixxx is a DJ tool that allows for the playback and mixing of digital music (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC and Wave).The basic requirements for Mixxx are a desktop computer or laptop with a reasonable amount of storage space on the hard drive for your music, at least 1 audio card for outputting the sound and a way of controlling the software either by mouse, keyboard or hardware DJ Controller.

So to start off I found this older midi controllor, it's a Hercules Dj control mp3 e2. Yeah I know it's sort of a mouth full.
My problem stems that Once I got the hdjmod installed it would cause a kernal panic killing my linux box. Like clicking hard drive of death. :confused: Anyway so I went to the site for Mixxx a virtual djing program that should be able to interface with my controller.
A'ight, I'll apologize up front for being light on the info.Basically, I've got a fresh install of Statler on a Gateway NV52 laptop. I'd like to be able to run Mixxx, which requires being built from source on anything Linux that's not Ubuntu (and I just did the dance with Ubuntu 11.04 over the last few days...
