Hello, I have am ibm T60 which has been having wireless problems. The problem is that it often gets very slow speeds/bad pings etc. Transferring from a network ftp server gives about 300 kbps often stopping constantly and resuming. I don't recall having this problm when i first installed ubuntu about 6 months ago, but i don't know when exactly the problem began.
Hi, just installed Ubuntu 12.10 and I'm having problems with my wireless usb adapter. The model i was using is and edimax 7622umn and it has chipset rtl8192su. When used in a Windows computer it can find my wireless network and show a very good signal strength however it will never connect as it continues to ask for a password.
whenever i try to connect to a wireless network, ubuntu (11.10) asks for the password. when i enter this it thinks for a couple of minutes, then asks for the password again. This happens repeatedly.
I am severe wireless problems with Ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop.(Spec below)
I have just performed the first clean install since new. Installed a new Hard Drive as well. The machine and wifi was fine under Ubuntu 9.04.
It is booting much faster now but the wifi keeps dropping off.
Any assistance in resolving this would be appreciated as I use this machine for work.
I used to have Snow Leopard installed on a MacBook Pro and everything was fine. After upgrading to Lion network problems started to happen.
I recently updated ubuntu to 12.04 and i have 2 problems:
1.) 'waiting for network configuration' shows each time when starting computer
2.) I always have to type in terminal 'sudo /etc/init.d/network-manager start' in order to get wireless connection working. How to configure to start it automatically with startup?
Please help me to solve these 2 problems.
Thanks,
I'm using 12.04 (32 bit) on a dual boot machine with Windows 7.
I use a wireless adapter (USB) to connect to my router. Yesterday the wireless connection fell over and asked for input of the WPA2 password to reconnect. Entry of the password would not allow reconnect.
I rebooted.
Normally on reboot my system requests a keyring password to activate my network connection.
