Hi,I have ADSL Modem Huawei SmartAX MT882 which has Ethernet as well as USB cable to connect internet. For so long I have been using this Modem using Ethernet cable.
How do I install drivers for my HCF Conexant modem in Ubuntu 11.10?
Unfortunately Conexant driver is old with no update for new kernel version (upper 2.6)
so I cant install and use my HCF modem.
I tried to compile it but when I want to configure it I have error! How should I compile and configure this driver with a newer kernel?
I'm trying to set up a USB Fax Modem in Ubuntu through Virtual Box but I'm not sure how to do so. My goal is to be able to dial out to a phone and have the phone ring.
Host OS = Mac OS X
Virtual Box Guest OS = Ubuntu 12.04
56k USB Fax/Modem = Lenovo 43R1786 (43R1815) by Conexant
It's an old-school fax/modem that I'm trying to plug into a phone line, not a dsl modem.
tried searching the site and didn't see anything (directly) on this.
I am about to go from windows XP to fedora and a little google research has shown me that there are driver problems for my
conexant HDA d330 v.92 modem (wireless). If the modem doesn't work I will be stuck (I am making a clean break from windows). It "appears" that conexant has a driver labeled to work with
Fedora.
When I install either a PCI serial or modem card I cannot get ubuntu to recognize it as an additional serial port like ttyS2. I have tried the setserial command and all the options, but I think its because the kernel does not have a module or driver for it. When I use the lspci -vvv command it shows kernel modules and drivers for the other PCI cards but nothing for the modem card.
Okay, I'm running Ubuntu 11.04.
I bought a USB Extarnal Modem. Whice is controller based, I think thats a hard ware modem correct me if i'm wrong.
Right now I'm on windows and it shows the manufacturer is "Conexant"
The thing is...how would I be able to use this in ubuntu.
As I know winmodems does not work with linux.
Been here on Ubuntu for a couple of years and finally thought I knew something and then I ran into this gem tonight:
