I'm dual booting W7 and Ubuntu (installed from Wubi). I've had it up and running a few times but today ,i have pressed power button multiple times while booting up and I'm getting a message from Windows Boot Manager when I select Ubuntu that wubildr.mbr is missing or corrupt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS inside windows 7 using wubi, but in the operation system selection menu when i try ubuntu it displays:
Try (hd0,0): NTFS: No wubildr (even though it does exist in C:\wubildr)
Try (hd0,1): NTFS: (here it hangs, it cannot load grub)
When i choose windows in selection menu it boots normaly.
I realy do not understand what is the problem!!!
Hi,
My laptop had winxp that was dual booting with ubuntu 12.10.
Installed win 8 Pro successfully, now win xp can't load. That's OK as I plan to junk it.
I still want ubuntu but it won;t load either. the wubildr.mbr in c:/ is there.
Have a C drive spilt into 3 parts: C/D/E. Ubuntu is on E.
The "ubuntu-gnome-12.10-desktop-i386" iso installer file is on E.
Not to sound like a total newb with Ubuntu, but i went thru the installation process. Everything worked fine until i robooted and selected to run Ubuntu. An error msgs pops up instantly saying "try hd 0,0 no wubild, try hd 0,1 NTFS5: 2 try hd 0,2 no wubild found. It also says cannot find grldr in all drives.
Hi,
I'm trying to dual boot ubuntu 12.10 alongside windows 8. I tried to use wubi windows installer to install ubuntu. Now when I restart my laptop it reports some problem with "File: \ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.mbr". However i'm still able to login to windows 8 but not ubuntu.
Code:
error: no such device: abc123
error: cannot get C/H/S values.
Hi. I've been trying to install Ubuntu via Wubi on my new Asus K55V laptop. The installation appears to complete fine without errors, but when I then reboot I get this boot screen error:
The arcane language here is Danish. The "status" code is "0xc0000098".
I am having problems getting grub to load Windows 8 properly after installing Ubuntu 12.10 and Windows 8 on a solid state drive.
I would like to start off by saying that I am new to Ubuntu and forums as well. Lets get on with the problem now. I am on my old desktop, possibly about 7-8 years. It has 2 hard drives on it. 1 hard drive has Windows XP Professional installed on it and the 2nd hard drive is empty.
