I found that quantat xorg stack is available in updates. I was using the xorg edgers ppa until now because I needed an updated driver for my laptop (intel 915 chipset). So I decided to purge the xorg edgers ppa and then install kernel and xorg from quantal using the ubuntu updates repository.
I had no problem about the kernel but I'm struggling with the xorg stack.
This tutorial will explain how to install Linux kernel 3.5 rc release using ppa.
First open a terminal from the dash home(or press Ctrl+Alt+T), add the ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa by command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
Then do update and dist-upgrade.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If you change your mind, execute following to install ppa-purge and remove the ppa with it.
A git version of xserver_1.13 (2:18.104.22.1683+git20120730.afa53fe7-0ubuntu0ricotz) can be downloaded from Xorg-edgers PPA for QQ.
Also the necessrary other drivers (input and video) can be obtained from there.
And of course the correct nvidia-current_304.30 is also there.
These are built against the new xserver ABI: xorg-input-abi-18 and xorg-video-abi-13.
