Found a few threads addressing this but many are 6 months old or better.
There have been new drivers and new Ubuntu since any of the posts I have read.
I am trying to get a linksys WUSB600N up and running on Ubuntu Version 9.10.
I have downloaded the current driver versions from ralink.com
I will just add to Alan's excellent answer above, that the kmod-rt3572sta is the "newer" of the two drivers so is probably the preferable solution in this case, but do please feel fr... [by NedSlider]

Hi, I'm a Ubuntu noob and I'm trying to configure my NVidia graphics card. I installed the nvidia_current drivers (with kpackagekit) and ran nvidia_xconfig, but X did not start. The nvidia kernel module was not loaded. When I tried to manually do a modprobe nvidia, this is the error I got:
