I have a Custom Desktop PC with onboard lan (working) and a D-Link DWA-548 PCIe wi-Fi card that doesn't work and has no proprietary driver shown in the additional drivers tool.

Hello all, I am in a predicament getting Ubuntu to recognize my USB wireless adapter. When I entered "lsusb" I got the following:
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]
Of course, this was for the one particular hardware.
Hello.
I'm useing a netgear WNA 3100 USB adapter. I got it to work after alot of work and everything was fine.
But yesterday there was some kind of update and i'm sure it said something about ndiswrapper..
Karmic, 32 bit; trying to get a Netgear WG111v3 usb stick running with ndiswrapper. It works on a local unsecured site, but I'd really prefer to have it connect to the site from the cable modem, with WEP security. That last seems to be the problem.
Ok my dell's internal wifi card works fine, but i bought a usb adapter to obtain a stronger signal but i cant seem to get it to work and ditch my internal all togather, it has the proper drivers.

I can get online on my windows side only with my Netgear WNA3100 wifi stick. I have a real chicken and egg problem. I dont even know where to get started here. If someone could give me a few things to type to get some info posted that would be great.
I do not think that I have ndiswrapper installed correctly.

I think that I've already installed the driver.
