I am running Windows 7 on Dell Studio 1458 laptop,where it uses wireless without any problem.
I decided to try Ubuntu's latest Live CD so I ran it,but it didn't find the wireless driver for it.The system came with Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 minicard.
I tried to update the driver on linux platform and it updated Broadcom driver for it,but still it's not working.
Any help in this regard on how to insta

I have a friend that wants to evaluate Ubuntu LTS. She has an HP TX12010US Pavilion Laptop that has broadcom wireless.
Can I use the Live CD and expect to connect wireless?? (since I can't download/install the driver through the normal method).
Or is it possilbe, while active in the Live session, to temporarily install the proprietary driver using Ubuntu's automated process?
I installed Ubunto 12.04 onto a brand new Toshiba Satellite C850 64 bit laptop. Wlan does not work, Tries to connect, gives up after some time. $Windows7 works 100%.
There appears to be a problem with the driver. The actual hardware is a rtl8188ce chip.
