I plan on buying a refurb desktop from newegg.com to literally just run Plex 24/7. I have over the years collected a ton of movies and TV show and I love running Plex on the laptop but I do notice it uses a little more resources and I don't want to be running my laptop all the time. So I plan on...
Computer: HP Compac nx 9020. running ubuntu 11.04 . Detects wireless USB stick when connected before booting the computer. If USB stick is connected when computer is running the stick is not detected. What shall I do to get the computer to detect the wireless USB stick when the computer is running.
The stick is OK, and all the other networks next door appear, however my local network is absent. The network shows up and works on my laptop running xp and windows 7 via their internal adapters.
It also worked fine in the desktop 30 mins before I loaded Ubuntu 9.1 on top
Stick is Belkin N Wireless Adapter bundled with Belkin N Wireless router Z528 ref no.
I literally just installed Ubuntu and know nothing at all. I'm running it off my USB stick for now- Vista is installed on the local drive. This is an adventure, and the first thing I need is to get wireless Internet going to start playing. I am currently wired into my ATT NVGS10 router with an ethernet cable, but want to set up wirelessly like on my WinOS. I don't even know where to begin.
Hey folks,
I'm looking for a wireless card to slap into my desktop that's currently dual-booting Lucid and XP. Any recommended PCI wireless cards that play well with both?
Anyone had any luck with those wireless USB deals working with both Windows and Linux? They do seem kind of handy, but I'm wary.
Hey Guys,
I have a Dell E6410 currently running Ubuntu 10.10 with everything working, EXCEPT my wireless seems to only want to use the "A" radio...and it is a wireless N card that I have a wireless N router that I want it to connect to.
It connects fine in my Windows 7 partition, so I'm assuming there is some type of driver issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 as the main OS on a desktop I built. It's set to lock the screen after 10 min. or so of inactivity.
Hi guys
Firstly I have looked EVERYWHERE for an answer to this and I seem to be having no luck, have literally spent hours.
I installed 10.4 on my notebook (it's a dual boot system with XP)
Everything worked fine, my wireless network was connected and I could dial up to my dsl account ( 4 people in the house all with their own usernames.
I'm having a strange problem with my netbook (Dell Mini 9 with Fedora 11). I can connect to my wireless access point, but once I disconnect (restart netbook, etc), my netbook finds the access point, yet the passphrase doesn't get authenticated. It just tries and tries, with no connection. I can see all of the wireless networks in the area, so I know that the wireless card is working.
