I have recently just downloaded ubuntu 11.10 and before i installed, wireless worked perfectly in windows. Now that i have downloaded and installed ubuntu, i know longer have windows. I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.
I have Ubuntu 12.10 installed with windows 7 on a partitioned hard drive in a new gateway tower. My wireless card is made by realtek. The install went fine, I was able to connect to wireless to install updates and whatnot. However, at some point both wired and wireless internet began working poorly/not at all in Ubuntu.
I just installed Ubuntu on my External HD Via USB... It work as a normal.... Installed all the updates, Upgraded to Version 10.10... After some days of using it.. I just temporarily get offline for some reasons... so, to conserve battery i just turned off the wireless switch... after working, i booted up to ubuntu again. At first i thought that it was only my wireless switch is off.
Hello,
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 on a Macbook 3.1 today. Everything works fine. All of a sudden, my wireless would pick up connections, but not connect to them. Previously, my wireless worked perfectly, even when I used the Live CD.
Other computers connect to the wireless router fine, and even Mac OS X does when I dual boot.
Hey Guys, I have windows 7 dual-booted with ubuntu. Im having issues with ubuntu however and i am very new to using linux (sorry). When i intalled ubuntu and ran on it a seperate partition everything seemed to work fine until i tried connecting to the wireless internet in my university. This is what's driving me crazy.
Gone through many forums but nothing seems to have worked in my case.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on my Dell Inspiron 1464 Laptop with Wubi. The other operating system being Windows 7.
The wireless on Windows is working perfectly fine but not on Ubuntu. Initially, in Ubuntu 12.04 the wireless used to work perfectly fine but not lately. (Note. I keep on updating my Ubuntu regularly.
I just ran some "suggested" auto updates and now my wireless is extremely unstable. I frequently lose my connection. Simply trying to reconnect to the network will not work. I have to uncheck Enable Wireless, then Enable Wireless to re-establish the connection.
Hi everyone,
I'e had my Macbook Air dual booted with Ubuntu for a few months now and it's always worked pretty much flawlessly out of the box. I made a few recommended tweaks after the install RE power saving.
I booted into my Ubuntu partition today for the first time in a month or so. I ran my updates and after the restart my Wireless has crapped out.
I'm using a Compaq Presario CQ62, and I believe my wireless card is Realtek RTL8191SE 802.11 b/g/n Wifi
My current issue is that it drops connection all the time and has a hard time connecting at all in some areas. Windows works perfectly for wireless.
anyone have any idea why?
