Hi all
I have a weird problem. My Internet connection just seems to die after a few minutesof operation. If I reboot the desktop, or the wireless router or even just disconnect and reconnect the wireless network it seems to reset and internet works again for a while.
I know this is not an Ubuntu problem as it also happened under Windows XP.
I'm on Ubuntu Maverick (10.10). I've read a few threads regarding wired connection problems, but haven't found a solution yet.
The problem appears after I connect to a wireless network. When I disconnect wireless and plug in an internet cable, the wired connection is not recognized at all.
I'm currently using WICD, which I switched to after network manager was unable to retain a wireless connection for more than 10 minutes at a time.
Using WICD, my connection has been stable for months, and I've had no problems connecting to my network using WPA2.
Iam a newbie to Ubuntu and linux ....
I had install Ubuntu 12.04.1 precise pangolin LTS last month
Had no problems with connectivity , both wired and wireless connections worked ... until recently I happened to install and upgrade the Ubuntu repositories... after restart the wired connection works but my wireless connection is lost completely ... I use a wireless router at home ..
Using Fedora 17 on a asus laptop, I get a disconnect in my wireless connection.
Whats more disturbing is that I cannot select my network's ssid to connect to again !

I have recently done a clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 on my eee B202. I have a few little niggling problems that I am trying to sort out. One of them is connecting to my wireless network.
For a little more secturity, I have my wireless network set up such that it does not broadcast the SSID.
hi,
I'm still new to ubuntu, but i'm getting realy frustraded because I don't know how to setup a network between the 2 computers where I have ubuntu 10.10 installed on.
I have a wireless router for the internet down in the basement and a second, wired connection for my pc's upstairs.
I'm using one as a download "server" and the other is my main desktop.
When I try to set-up a wired c
I'm getting flaky wireless problems, on an Asus netbook that never used to have such problems.
This is on a home wireless network; no connection problems in Windows (dual boot between Windows and Fedora).
