http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm really new to Ubuntu and not very technical. I bought 'LINUX The Complete Manual' and was convinced of the advantages over Windows. I installed a new hard drive in my old Dell Dimension 3100 computer and loaded Linux. I've upgradaded to v10.10, The Maverick Meerkat (whatever that means!) The wireless internet card didn't seem to work, so following advice in the LINUX Manual I bought a cheap Wireless LAN USB dongle. It's a Cisco RangerPlus Wireless Network USB adaptor. As soon as I plugged it in I got a connection to my 2WIRE891 router, but web pages seem slow to load and the connection (HowTos)

I have a question. I just bought an internet router which also has wireless connection and my notebook also has wireless LAN. I was able to connect the computer to the internet router very easy. But i dont know how to make it work wirelesss under fedora linux 12...i mean how should i setup the connection to the router so i will be able to have a wireless connection?

I have internet access through 3G/4G USB dongle direct into my Ubuntu 10.04 box. Works great! Now I would like to share this connection out through my Netgear WGR614 wireless (and wired) router. Any clues?

The router is brand new, installed yesterday. The internet provider upgraded me and made the connection a bit faster.

Hello, I recently replaced my six year old 802.11abg router with a new 802.11n router, hoping to take advantage of the 802.11n-capable wireless adaptor in my new laptop. Unfortunately, my wireless connection persists in connecting at the 54Mbps maximum. My router is Netgear WNDR3700 and my wireless adaptor is Intel Wifilink 5300.

Hello all, trying to access my NAS but having trouble. In my PC I have a USB wireless network adaptor connection to my router, and I have the NAS connected via the ethernet port in the same PC. I assumed it would be a simple case of connecting the NAS, running ifconfig to find the IP address of the NAS and connecting via web browser.

I'm new to ubuntu, and no very little of how it operates.

I downloaded and installed ubuntu 12.10 and everything seemed to work. My wireless connected without a hitch, but when I try to use an internet browser it won't load any pages.

I am trying Ubuntu on a trial basis to see if I think I could use it in place of Windows. One of the things I can do in Windows is connect my XP laptop thru a wireless access point which is connected by ethernet cable to my desktop, which is set to share its internet connection. The desktop connects to the internet by dialup.
