I have a Latitude D610 computer. I just downloaded Ubuntu a few days ago, and it works great except for the fact that I can't connect to wireless. Anyone help????
It keeps telling me "firmware missing."
Did a windows (XP SP3) install of Ubuntu 12.04 which, as far as I can tell, went ok except for when I set up the wireless network. After entering all the necessary info to setup the wireless connection not only did it not connect but there did not appear to be any attempt to connect.
Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I am new to Ubuntu, and I need help.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Dell Inspiron 6400. Everything went fine with the installation, but there is no wireless. When I hover over the wireless logo, it says "Wireless Networks device not ready (firmware missing)".
i have a dell inspiron 1564 with this wireless adapter:
1. Dell DW1397 Broadcom 4312 Wireless BCM94312HMG
i am running debian, at first it told me it needed this:
i used wired internet to finish the installation.
I was just given a Dell Latitude E6400 without an operating system, so I decided to install the newest Ubuntu onto it. I'm not used to any operating system other than windows, so any information I look up sounds like another language to me. If someone could please explain what I should do in order to have wireless on here, I would really appreciate it.
So, I have finally gotten Ubuntu to dual boot on my laptop (yet only from a CD, which is fine with me right now) but the wireless does not work. Before I actually install this, I need to know that wireless and java applications work. Like RuneScape for example. I don't want to install a new OS on my main computer that I use if it cannot run RuneScape or even simple YouTube.
I have a used HP pavillon dv6. it works like new, but wireless does not work. I loaded f17. the connection icon showed wireless disabled. there is a touchable wireless which you could touch to enable wireless port. but I touched but only could change wireless from disabled to firmware missing. any idea?
