[ubuntu] Wireless encryption problem?

http://ubuntuforums.org – I can't seem to establish a wireless Internet connection with my router. It seems my computer is avoiding it whenever possibly while trying to connect to it by automatically switching to a different network and then issuing a "Failed to connect to [different network name] report" a few times before finally giving up. Even selecting the network changes it to a different one. Also, this never happens when I connect to a non-encrypted network. (Hardware)

Running Maverick 64-bit. I previously had my wireless network set to WEP encryption, and when I'd start my laptop it would automatically connect to the network (with a hidden SSID) and everything was great. In order to use my work laptop at home, I had to change to WPA2 encryption.

I installed Ubuntu 11.10 recently. After the first bootup the computer freezes so I have to force-quit my computer.

Then I turned on my computer after that. I tried connecting to the internet. My (and my neighbor's) wireless networks shown up, but no matter how many times I tried, I can't connect to my home network. I checked the password and the other laptop's internet works (a MacBookPro).

I have recently done a clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 on my eee B202. I have a few little niggling problems that I am trying to sort out. One of them is connecting to my wireless network.

For a little more secturity, I have my wireless network set up such that it does not broadcast the SSID.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L645 laptop. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS alongside with Windows 7. At first, everything worked fine. But today my Ubuntu system has a problem. It detects every wireless network in the area except my own. I found that my wireless network is 'hidden', although I didn't do anything with its settings at all.

I am newbie to ubuntu and I installed ubuntu 10.04 along with windows XP. I am using compaq 610 laptop and using NETGEAR for wireless connection.

I created a new wireless connection in Network Manager with the security key, but unfortunately it is not connected.

So I am having this problem since I updated my newly installed 12.10 release from an ISO (I just began using linux at all yesterday...).

I have a recently-upgraded UNR (12.04) running on my netbook, and I just built a computer with Ubuntu 12.10.

I'm currently using WICD, which I switched to after network manager was unable to retain a wireless connection for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Using WICD, my connection has been stable for months, and I've had no problems connecting to my network using WPA2.

I'm having a problem connecting to my wireless network on an IBM Thinkpad T23 running ubuntu 9.10.

My wireless device is a TRENDnet TEW-421PC wireless PC Card.

I've tried it in Windows XP and it works great. Strong signal, easy to set up.

I wiped windows XP because I was having problems with GRUB and wanted to use ubuntu anyway.
