I'm trying to figure out the best way to have the wifi adapter reconnect to a wireless network after it's been disconnected.
When the wifi connection is lost (due to the AP rebooting, or a weak signal, etc.), I have to manually reconnect the wifi connection (via ifdown, then ifup).
I'm having troubles with my internet connection in ubuntu right now. Well, a few actually.
First, when I compare my speeds between ubuntu and Windows, I'm getting double my link speed on Windows than on ubuntu.
Second, my internet connection periodically drops. Usually when I'm downloading a large file or putting a large load on my connection.
Hello, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with wvdial and Gnome PPP, but I am unable to connect to the internet with my Zoom 3095 USB Modem. I tried several times and got similar results. I have got the connection log attached along with all of the mentions of pppd and all other lines in the file /var/log/messages from the first mention to the ent
G'day people,
I have an IBM ThinkPad W700 running 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. At the office I normally connect it to the Ethernet since it's never connected very reliably to the wifi there (drops out 2 or 3 times per day, usually at the worst possible time, of course), but it always worked just fine with Netgear WGR614v5 at home...
I'm running FC#17 32 bit, and using Network Manager to connect to my wireless router. It connects, but drops the connection after a while (not sure of exactly how long.) It works for a while, but if I leave the computer turned on and return after a few hours, the wireless icon will show it as connected, but I'm unable to go to any websites.
Hi All,
I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 version. I'm struggling to connect to wireless internet connection provided by my university.
The error message I get in the log is: CTRL-EVENT-EAP-FAILURE EAP authentication failed (for details see the attached log file)
I have attached a part syslog with mail.
Hi guys,
I've got a wifi connection that drops around every half hour. When I go to the log I see this:
ubuntu wpa_supplicant[29144]: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED bssid=00:23:69:28:21:75 reason=7
It then connects again, but after a while it drops.
My wifi card is an AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter.
Hi all
I have a weird problem. My Internet connection just seems to die after a few minutesof operation. If I reboot the desktop, or the wireless router or even just disconnect and reconnect the wireless network it seems to reset and internet works again for a while.
I know this is not an Ubuntu problem as it also happened under Windows XP.
