Laptop: hp 6735b with broadcom43xx (not sure which) wireless card
The laptop came with Vista and the wireless toggle button works when running Vista. Enter Ubuntu. Proprietary drivers detected and installed, but external physical button remains in 'disabled' state (indicated by an orange glow, blue glow when enabled) no matter how many times I press it.

I have Desktop PC Dell Inspiron 530, Double boot with Windows Vista.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop using Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-card (This is what Windows Vista says I have). I have installed Ubuntu as dual boot with existing Windows Vista. Wireless is not working in Ubuntu but working flawlessly in Windows. Here is the output using CODE: lspci. Please take a look at this output and let me know what I should do next. I am a newbie with Linux.

Currently wireless is work on Win 7 but not Ubuntu. The other day when I started Ubuntu wifi was working great but now when I right click on the networks icon the "enable wireless" option is listed in dark grey.

I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my new Dell Studio 1558. After installing the broadcom proprietary driver for my wireless card, the wireless for my laptop worked fine.
