[ubuntu] Wine Not Working

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey Guys and Girls, I am tying to install World of Warcraft on Ubuntu 12.04 with Wine. When I access the cd/dvd drive and right click the exe. file on the cd and choose to install with Wine I get a error stating the Wine installer won't launch. Have any idea of what to do? (Hardware)

I read the all of the information I could find on wine, and it wasn't very much (having issues with the search feature of the forum).

I understand that the idea behind it is to make it so that you can install windows programs, and have them run on ubuntu.

Hello all, I'm using Ubuntu x64 12.10, and I'm currently unable to install Borderlands using playonlinux or wine.

When I try to install using the POL present, it gets to the very last step where the VC C++ 2008 installer tries to run, and it puts out this error:

Internal errors - Invalid parameters received

If I try using wine, I run this command:

Can't remove wine 1.4 rc5 34 weeks 2 days ago

I installed Wine 1.4 rc5. Later I realised that this wine won't work because there is no sound. I removed it using Synaptic Package Manager and installed Wine 1.2 which is the stable version of Ubuntu 10.04. Even though I install it. It's still showing Wine 1.4 rc-5. How can I remove wine 1.4-rc5 and install Wine 1.2 ?

We have been changed how wine is built. From now on, we have wine, wine-mono and wine-gecko. Possible to only install wine and wine-mono, or wine and wine-gecko. If you do conary updateall in fl:2-devel label, you will need to install wine-mono and wine-gecko to get those.
