I just updated my ubuntu 12.10 today and it went fine and I was told to restart system and after i restart my wifi stopped working. Mine is broadcom BCM4312 card . It was working fine just before the update ! I tried reinstalling driver from software sources and it didn’t work, it shows the propriety driver in use but network manager doesn’t detect my wifi card.
Ubuntu 12.04.1 with all updates installed. Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad X230 with Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6205.
WiFi sometimes becomes extremely slow. Often this occurs when I wake the system from suspend and connect to a different network. I find no obvious clues in system logs. /etc/init.d/network-manager restart doesn't help, but a reboot does.
I'm using Samsung NP900X3C.
I have problem with occasionally connecting to WIFI, with Ubuntu 12.10.
Sometimes my computer could not connect to WIFI "blab", neither after reboot computer.
Only solution is restart WIFI hotspot. It's public WIFI, used by many users, that don't have that problem.
Just upgraded to Fedora 18 on my Dell Mini 9 netbook. `kmod-wl` is the wifi driver that works on this netbook (Broadcom BCM4312).
It normally worked fine with past versions of Fedora, but on F18 the `ssb` kernel module keeps getting loaded and it conflicts with `wl`, and nothing I do stops the module from being automatically loaded. These steps always work to fix the wireless:

I have a first generation Starling (star1) that I've just updated to 12.04. (All software is up-to-date; the System 76 drivers have been reinstalled.) The 'restart' command that is offered at shutdown causes the computer to begin its shutdown procedure, but then it just stops: the screen goes black but the power remains on. It does not reboot. Pressing the power button shuts down the computer.
I have ubuntu 11.10 64bit, everything worked fine but after i uninstalled the airtime dj app i can't restart or shutdown my pc !! The only way to reach at the screen showing that system is going to shutdown is via terminal but it stucks and never shuts down !
I can't even restart it !
I can suspend my pc fine but can't shutdown or restart it.
when i restart my Dell inspiron 5010 it do not detects the wifi drivers and the hotkey for turning the wifi card on is not working either. I am using proprietary drivers "Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA Wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary)".
I need to click and apply "Do not Use the device" and then switch back to the proprietary driver.
I am facing a starnge problem during WIFI connection after I have upgradede to 4.0.4. When I browse using wifi after some time, the samsung galaxy s2 phone switches off. If I try to restart then it shows battery status with 1% charge status.
I've seen many posts/threads about Wifi issues with the EVO 4G LTE, but they all seem to fit in these categories:
- Bad Wifi signal due to poor antenna contact
- Wifi not working at all in an early ROM version
- Wifi causing random device reboots
- Problems with Wifi tether
However, I'm having a Wifi problem that I can't find much information on: After about a day of use, connecting to my h
