I installed the header and image packages for kernel 2.6.38-13-generic under Ubuntu 10.04, but now the Nvidia and Broadcom drivers keep crashing when I attempt to install them.
I tried running sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source but get the error:

when i restart my Dell inspiron 5010 it do not detects the wifi drivers and the hotkey for turning the wifi card on is not working either. I am using proprietary drivers "Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA Wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary)".
I need to click and apply "Do not Use the device" and then switch back to the proprietary driver.
I need to install any working driver for wireless for this laptop, however, after re-installing bcmwl-kernel-source which was installed with OS, I get this:

I'm using dell inspiron 1545 came with vista, I've been using windows 7 in that from a while.
Now I installed ubuntu parallel with Windows 7 in other drive. Problem is I cant connect to my wifi (dont have wired connection).
I just installed Kubuntu 10.10 on my MacBook 3,1 and found no wireless connection. Using KPackageKit I activated Broadcom b43 because it had already been selected for me. When I subsequently tried to activate Broadcom STA, however, I was returned with an error. After reading Jockey log I removed the wrong driver and reinstalled all drivers so that I can activate the correct one.
