[ubuntu] Is this why my windows partition always go haywire when dual booting?

http://ubuntuforums.org – I've always noticed this one thing in particular in the past when dual-booting. When I have Windows and Ubuntu on two separate partitions, I used to always mount my windows drive so that I could listen to my songs from Windows partition as opposed to having to re-download everything in Linux. Well, according to one of my friends, mounting a Windows partition in RW mode is the reason why my Windows partition starts to affect my performance in Windows. For example, I'd start getting random chkdsks and it seems that the OS in general just starts going slower and slower. Is mounting a Window (Hardware)
