Hello everyone !
I have a problem with my PCI-E NIC Marvell yukon. I read a lot of stuff about this and try many things !
I managed to upgrade my Ubuntu server 10.04 to 12.04 and apply the solution of Foresto here post #25. I now use sk98lin driver instead of sky2.
(Thanks you Foresto by the way ;) )
But I still lost my PCI-E Ethernet card ! Yeah this is very weird.
How might I confirm which driver is being used for my graphics card?
I've recently been having some graphics trouble with Wine, and, in attempting to resolve it, I realised that I don't actually have confirmation that the graphics driver that I intend to be in use is actually the one being loaded.
The intended driver should be installed, but I'm not confident that it's actually being used instea

I have an nVidia and I installed the latest drivers from the nVidia web site. I then forgot to uninstall the driver before taking tons of updates and ended with an unbootable Ubuntu installation. Following directions from this page I managed to mount and get into the broken Ubuntu installation using the Ubuntu 11.10 LiveCD.
I think your video driver is not working. KMS (modesetting) which loads the kernel's video driver is not working. Try adding nomodeset to the kernel boot line. You can do this from the GRUB boot menu when you first boot up. You may have to install another video driver. Which one depends upon your GPU.It is possible the latest kernel you installed is not compatibl
I have a Dell laptop. I was running Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit. During that time wireless was working fine. Yesterday I updated my os to 12.04.now wireless is not working.

I wanted to replace the old driver that comes from the "Additional Drivers" window with the newest ATI Catalyst driver. I tried installing Catalyst, but it said I had to remove the old driver, so i did. I tried again, but it still said the old driver was still installed, so i figured a reboot might solve the problem. Now I can't boot back up. I can't even get to the purple screen.
