[ubuntu] Which WiFI adapter should I get?

http://ubuntuforums.org – I am going to purchase a new laptop and thinking about getting a Lenovo E520. It has the option of either a ThinkPad 1x1 b/g/n WiFi adapter or an Intel WiFi Link 1000. Does anyone know which adapter is better to get in terms of Ubuntu compatibility? (Hardware)

Has anyone done this or is it even possible? I've tried using the Wifi tether app, Foxfi and Open Garden but no luck at all. I have a Trendnet gaming adapter N wireless. The wifi device does not connect to my phone no matter what I try to do, it shows on the PC setup showing my phone but no luck. Only Open Garden was able to detect it but no data was pass to the adapter.

It is quite a strange situation.

In school, with school wifi, both OS can work pretty well. In hostel, with hostel wifi(seems more unstable), Win7 can still access internet quite easily while ubuntu sometimes cannot access internet. It just cannot connect to the wifi. But there are also times when ubuntu can also connect to the hostel wifi, but most of the time, ubuntu wireless does not work.

I have a desktop running bt5 r3 and a laptop running bt5 r3. Im switching the usb adapter for my laptop because the integrated wifi card is not supported by bt5. The wireless usb adapter works very well with speed on the desktop but it runs extremly slow and disconnects quite often on the laptop. However the same os and same adapter runs well on the desktop.
