Hi,
I have a Dell Precision M70 with the graphics card NV17Gl [Quadro4 500 GoGL] and 2G of RAM. I updated from 12.04 to 12.10 (bad idea). I couldn't get the Unity desktop to work so I installed both KDE and Mate to see which would work for me. The KDE would work approximately OK in the "failsafe" mode only. The full blown option crashes the X system very often.
Hello group, Here is my situation. I have tried installing Ubuntu Desktop 12.10 and 12.04.2 with DRBL. I go through all the configs and DRBL/Clonezilla works great. Now rather than having to be on the console to update/install software etc I would like to just use a vnc like tightvncserver so that I can vnc in from whatever client or other computer.
I tried Fedora for the first time ... installation worked like a dream, then I wanted to access Fedora from my Debian box on my LAN.
What I did in Fedora was:
1. Install vncserver and vnc (Tigervnc server and Tiger vnc were installed)
2. Gave command vncserver and gave passwd it asked for
hi,
I would like connect to a Fedora linux desktop by using vnc with a couple login/passwd and take the control of the current user session.
I v installed vncserver (tigervnc) and x11vnc.
I v configured an user session in /etc/sysconfig/vncserver and launch vncserver :1 -name user.
I can connect remotly but it's a gui root session.
How take the current user session and see what he do?
th
When searching the web for information about how to configure the default resolution and color depth for RealVNC sessions, I always come across stuff that talks about passing commandline parameters to vncserver, such as vncserver -geometry 1024x768 or something.
Hello.
I want to buy a new graphic card for my desktop PC. Some friends advised to me the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, and I want to know if that card has problems with Linux due to its drivers.
Because I had problems with the wifi drivers some years ago, and I don't want to have the same problem with another hardware.
My current graphic card is an Intel 82945G Express Chipset.
Hi,
I have just setup vnc over the LAN using Tigervnc on F12. In general it works beautifully.
One thing I can't find any info on is how to get it to share display :0 , the ultimate objective in this case.,
So I updated my graphic drivers using the additional drivers option and restarted my computer upon completion.
I just don't know how to name this thread to describe this problem.
I have a laptop dell vostro 3550 (2 graphic card: Intel HD 3000 and ATI HD 6630) on which I installed ubuntu 11.04 (32bits) and i can use unity desktop environment on the first boot.
When the Additional Drivers told me to activate ATI drivers, I click on activate and after that restarted the laptop.
