I bought a used nvidia 7800 gtx card and plugged it in to the motherboard and then plugged the monitor into the the vga portion of a dvi to vga converter located in the back of the card. I booted up and got a 640x480 resolution. I then attempted to install the nvidia 304.37 driver. I now know that this driver has been updated to 304.64.
I have installed ubuntu on my laptop, but i am having problems with the hdmi port. It doesnt seem to exist.
I have a nvidia gt 415m graphic card and a core i5 which would point at a problem with optimus technology, so i tried to install the new nvidia driver 319, which should help with this problem.
hi,
Here is the short of it, I had fedora 17 up and running and had some motherboard issues. Had to change motherboard and the video card but used the same disk. Brought up fedora loaded the nvidia driver for the nvidia card and all was well. Used that for a while and now repaired my motherboard that has an on board video.
I have a problem with this configuration:
Asus K55V, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Nvidia driver 304.51.
I have remove the nouveau driver with:
apt-get --purge remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
I installed the official nvidia driver (from www.nvidia.com) but when I reboot the PC the resolution of screen is only 640x480 and the monitor is resized.
Mo solution at this problem if i change the xorg.conf.
Hi! I'm currently using an ATI HD 5770 and am running 3 screens with twinview. The only problem is the lagg and det jerky window dragging. So I just bought a new card, an GTX 560 1GB ram. With two DVI and one DP, just like the ATI.
I was actually hoping that the Nvidia driver was better than the ATI driver. Ive had that experience from before.
I have a ASUS-N43 with nVidia GT-550m/Intel-HD3000 and Ubuntu 12.04. Now i have the problem that no propriatery nvidia driver is working after install. When i run the nvidia settings tool it tells me, that there is no card configured, i have to run nvidia-xconfig. But this did not solve the problem. After restart Ubuntu i had a resolution of 800x600.
I have an ASUS g51vx which has a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 260M CUDA 1gb graphics card. I have installed ubuntu 9.10 32bit using VMware player running from windows vista 64 bit.
