hello,

i am using ubuntu 12.10 32-bit on my laptop DELL inspiron N4030 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 Series.

the problem is:

when Laptop on AC adapter, CPU frequency always be the maximum (2.39 GHz), that's make out loud fan, even i try to change that frequency, it returns automatically (to the maximum) as long as the laptop plugged in.

on the other hand ubuntu seems to (automatically) scal

have anyone noticed that the notification sound for sms, email etc is too loud when on low volume settings, but whats weird is when you PREVIEW the sound it IS low like normal, but when its actually used it rings loud...again all sound options are set to low so its not that i have not lowered all 4 sound levers

Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to have your phone on silent but if a particular number rings you then it will ring on loud? My sister is due to give birth soon and wanted to know if i can just have her number ring out loud if my phone is on silent as I have too many texts at night to keep it on loud.. :confused: Thanks :) Sarah.

The speaker on my Maxx is tinny sounding, staticy sometimes and not very loud. Also the earpiece volume isnt loud enough either. Any suggestions?

I just bought a firewall that is very loud.

I have it at the lowest setting and it is still extremely loud. It is rooted running CM10. It sounds like it is on speaker and I need a fix. Any ideas?

Hi all, I have Dell studio 1555 laptop and I managed to make the Fn keys to work. I did it by adding the "noapic" to the "menu.lst" file. Since then I noticed that the fan(s) runs pretty loud. Before that the fans was quiet on some of the times.

1. I want to ask if the mod that I did can harm my laptop?

I've recently upgraded from a HTC One X to a HTC One. I've noticed the volume control isn't as good with the new handset, as the lowest volume setting is still quite loud. With my HTC One X I could put the volume of games down so that it was loud enough for me to hear, but not loud enough to annoy anyone in the vicinity ie my wife lying next to me.

My macbook pro 2010 13" is making a loud noise when turned off, like a short circuit. with ubuntu 12.04. I do not know what can be, but on Windows and Mac OS there is no noise.
