http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I been using Ubuntu 12.04 on Sony Vaio F11 machine. I see a Weird issue and like to verify as some body else see the same issue, ot its something really wrong in mine. since my laptop uses the NVIDIA 330M card, with fresh installation external monitor didn't get supported. So I removed the open NVDIA drivers installed and installed the official NVDIA drivers. Now both external monitor to TV and HDMI sound works... However when I try to watch Live stream from USOPEN.ORG all blue colors are inverted and shows up in purple color including the tennis court(picture in picture looks i (Hardware)

Installed 11.3 on my new laptop. With the default nouveau driver the laptop screen works but no external monitor output, which I use most, so I install the Nvidia drivers.

Now I have external support but no laptop screen. Does anybody have a config. file to get both to work. or any idea on a laptop config.

I installed 12.04 using wubi on an Acer notebook.

With the laptop lid closed my main external monitor works fine via HDMI; the second monitor shows only a bright green color.

After some googling I installed the DisplayLink drivers but this caused no changes.

I am using Linux Mint 13 - Mate in my Laptop and I am new to Linux.

Configuration - i3 Processor, nVidia GeForce GT 420M.

I am using a external monitor from Benq Corporation. I installed the latest nVidia drivers 310.19 from here.

Colors from graphic card gets sometime inverted. When I start Ubuntu 12.04 its just fine, but sometimes after some time the colors get inverted.

So, I'm not sure which category fits my issue the best but here it goes...

I've done the recent upgrade from 8.04 to 9.01 and I'm very pleased however I can no longer toggle between my laptop screen and my external monitor. My Fn+F10 used to do the work but ever since the upgrade it no longer functions ;).

Hi, I like Fedora, but i am frustrated now, any kernel above 3.3.4 wont boot on my laptop without external monitor connected. Only shows grub, and then turn off screen, Fedora boot, but i see nothing, when i plug monitor i See badly loaded GDM, but when i booting with external monitor Laptop screen turns on again after start GDM.

I am having trouble setting the correct resolution on my external monitor via HDMI

I have the gen3 Sandy Bridge processor with an Nvidia card. After I installed the Nvidia driver I got 640x800 resolution on my laptop monitor, but was able to set 1080p on my external monitor.

I am running Ubuntu 12.10 using the "wubi" tool on my HP Pavilion dv5-1080ei with Windows 8. When I ran Ubuntu for the first time my monitor/tv connected via the hdmi had no pic coming to it even though it was showing up in the display settings.
