When I am browsing images with gthumb 3.0.1, hitting the DELete key removes the file from the browser (I assume by placing it into a gthumb Trash), but it remains on disk. And there appears to be no way to either view the gthumb Trash nor empty it.
How does one view and/or empty the Trash - removing the files from the disk - in gthumb?
gThumb 3.0.2 on 13.04. When I connect my Nexus 4 via USB, it mounts using USB MTP and using the file manager I can see that there are images on the device under the path shown as "Internal storage/DCIM/Camera", but when I start gThumb and ask it to import from the Nexus 4 removable device, it does...
Good evening boys and girls,
I've run into a minor problem and I'm hoping that someone out there in the Ubuntu community can assist in solving it.
I'm using GThumb 2.14.3 to organise my photos and upload them to Picasa. Everything's working perfectly - except that I cannot find any way to automatically resize the pics before uploading.
Under F15, when inserting media with photos, I got to choose which application to use to import the photos. gthumb always worked for me and I want to continue to use it. F16 gives me no options except to run shotwell or eject the media.
How can I make gthumb run when I insert photo media? I can't see any way of configuring this.
I'm sorry if I'm posting a duplicate of another thread, but I honestly don't think so, because I've search for the solution to this issue for weeks, and haven't found anything -- no in these forums, or on the internet at large, which just boggles the mind.
My problem is this -- in all previous versions of Ubuntu, GThumb has worked fine -- I use it to resize images. It does this fine.
I have a fresh install of 64-bit Fedora 16. When I run GThumb, it does see my image files (JPG and PNG), but it always shows them as small icons, even if I double click on them. In other words, it seems as though it does not know that these are image files. As an example, I expected that I could zoom in and out using +/-, nope.
Hey All.
I've realy got myself in corner and I don't think I can Google my way out of it anymore.
My goal is to import and organize photos from my SD Card
I have a built in SD Card Reader on my Toshiba Satellite A205 with Fedora 12 installed
1st: I tried to just use gThumb but some of the images wouldn't render after import.
gThumb is one of the best image viewer and browser applications available for the GNOME Desktop. I particularly like its adeptness in handling both still photography and videos. That is an unusual pairing for an image viewer on any platform. You are not likely to find this combination, or at least one that works so seamlessly, in other image viewers.
InaTux: "Before recently my answer was always "You can't use IrfanView, as it's only available for Windows, and there isn't a good IrfanView equivalent for GNU/Linux." Well, I'm happy to say as of version 2.11.3 that I can now tell people that gThumb is as good as IrfanView, if not better."
