I am using Ubuntu 12.04 and I just bought AirTel 3G USB modem(HUAWEI technology). It's plug & play. I can access internet without any problems. But I am unable to access mass storage. How to access mass storage ?

i have just installed ubuntu 12.04.1 on my lenovo z 580 laptop and i have a lava 730g usb moden which i used to connect to internet on windows 7 ..

i want to know how to use this modem on ubuntu

in its driver folder there is a folder for windows,mac and ubuntu drivers and ubuntu folder contain a tar file and .sh file

what should i do

I have purchased new vodafone usb modem (ZTE K3770-z) and tried to connect it with ubuntu 11.04. But it is not automatically detected on ubuntu.

It's an old-school fax/modem that I'm trying to plug into a phone line, not a dsl modem.

using CDMA USB modem (Tata Photon+) for internet, which works perfectly in ubuntu and fedora. Also tried sucessfully on CentOS 6.2 i386, by installing drivers come with it.

But on CentOS 6.3 x86_64, the driver fail to install, guess those are 32-bit binary and this is 64-bit.

hm, i also know that there is usb_modeswitch utility which can be used.

Hello do let me know on how to let Ubuntu autodetect a MTS Mblaze USB modem without having to restart Ubuntu. Every time i plug in, i would only have to restart my Ubuntu to make the modem work. I have also tried restarting some services such networking, network-interface & network-manager.

I am new to Fedora. I have an INTEX Wireless Data Card Speed-3g V7.2 device, which i tried using it in F18.

I wonder why the S2 needs the tricky menu navigation to enter each time the mass storage mode. :mad:

I wonder if there's a patch/trick/app to enable USB mass storage mode as default, that is you plugin the cable and the phone is directly connected in mass storage mode
