[ubuntu] USB adapter doesn’t connect

http://ubuntuforums.org – I’m recently installed ubuntu 12.10 side by windows 7. My USB adapter doesn’t connect to internet with ubuntu but with windows it’s OK. I’m not that much familiar with ubuntu OS Adapter model No D-Link DWM-156 please help me (Hardware)

I am new to Ubuntu. I just installed Ubuntu Netbook on my Dell Latitude D610. I need a wireless USB adapter to use the internet. I decided to make use of the SMC EZ Connect g 802.11g Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, which I used on Windows XP. Unfortunately Ubuntu recognizes the adapter (lsusb in the terminal). But that's it.

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 on my desktop computer yesterday and I followed this guide to install the drivers for my WPN111 Netgear Wireless adapter. When I was finished following the guide the adapter light was blinking and I was able to connect to the internet just fine.

I have a Dell XPS M1210.

I'm dual clienting windows vista and ubuntu 11.10, and i have it set to where i can choose which i use at startup. Now the problem i'm having is that i use and external usb wireless adapter and i can't figure out how to either install the program that runs it or even make ubuntu find it.

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Dell Dimension 4700 desktop computer. I just upgraded to 10.10 from the previous version after getting my D-Link wireless adapter back after loaning it out. My internet now won't stay connected.

I have recently just downloaded ubuntu 11.10 and before i installed, wireless worked perfectly in windows. Now that i have downloaded and installed ubuntu, i know longer have windows. I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.

I just installed my first Ubuntu desktop as a dual boot with Windows 7. I had to install without internet access because my wireless wouldn't connect, it's not possible to use a wired connection.

My usb WiFi adapter was bought off Ebay recently and says compatible with Linux...

Hi All, Good Day! i just want to ask,anybody here familiar with virtualbox.

i trying to add another eth on my ubuntu 12.04 machine. i install vbox on windows7. i already have two nic eth0 and eth1 connect using bridged adapter. when i try to add another new nic using NAT adapter, i cannot connect to internet.(i add this eth2 while the machine running).
