Hi,
Every time that I boot Ubuntu (my only OS), I get the following message:
"drive disk for /media/sdb1 is not ready yet or not present"
Thus, Ubuntu does not start until I press "s" for skip.
Also sdb1 appears under Places all the time and it is not in the Media folder.
The above happens when there is no USB being used
Can any please help me to fix this problem.
I tried to start my computer with a USB hard drive already connected and on(I was going to back up files). This led to a number of problems. First on booting the computer the screen showed this message " The disk drive for /media/Data Copy is not ready yet or not present" then offered option S to Skip, M manual recovery or wait.
On booting up my computer says "The disk drive for /tmp is not ready yet or not present."
How do I fix this?
Just update my dell Inspiron to 12.04.1. Upon reboot I get the following error:
The disk drive for / is not ready yet or not present.
I have upgraded my OS to version 12.04. after completion of upgrade the laptop get restarted. But the root is not mounting. It shows a message
The disk drive for / is not ready yet or not present
What is the solution for this problem?
Or atleast can i restore my lap to the previous version?
My Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit keeps crashing on boot.
so I used startup disk creator which screwed up my USB drive and now I can't unmount it or format it.
here's what I get when I type blkid:
Code:
/dev/sda1: SEC_TYPE="msdos" LABEL="DellUtility" UUID="07D9-0619" TYPE="vfat"
/dev/sda2: UUID="06C8DF6BC8DF578F" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sda5: UUID="ba6884af-3d02-4f50-886f-ff0cc3022c

Currently the "partition" of ubuntu is located, is a virtual drive called "boot.disk" and "swap.disk" in a actual partition called D: drive in windows OS.
