All my icons har gone from Unity 3D, but present in Unity 2D. The icon for the Dash is also gone. All icons are present IN the dash, but when I add them to Unity the icon is suddenly invisble.
Everything works in Unity 2D.
After successfully installing Xubuntu 12.04.1 on my laptop, I decided to install Unity. That went OK but then I realized there was no themes. So then I installed the themes and artwork, and got a really bad surprise. My lightDM greeter was still Xubuntu like I wanted but the buttons where you choose the user are really tall and I have a purple computer as the icon above my computer name.
The Unity LauncherIf you have used Unity in Ubuntu 11.04, you would have noticed the large icons in the Unity launcher. The large icons are a good in larger screens since it makes it easier for the cursor to target it. But on smaller screens, like on netbooks, it could be too large and get in the way.
It's possible to create a folders like iOS in unity launch bar?
I mean, you can click on an icon, and then icons will appear horizontal with a few icons.
This could save space on unity launch bar. And I would like to know if these space saving solutions are available.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit installed on my laptop along with dual-boot Windows 7 HP.
So, I'm running Unity2D, a wonderful interface, and it's pretty intuitive, to me. It's kinda gotten mixed reviews, but let's not turn this into a "Unity sucks" flamewar. ;)
Anyway, I noticed that the icons were too big for my taste, and I found a neat little Python script that re-sizes the icons.
When I come to the ubuntu 12.04 lightdm login screen, I get several options for logging into desktop environments.
There is Unity and gnome and gnome-classic etc...
When I select unity, it logs me into Unity and
When I select gnome, it logs me into UNITY O_o
I also notice that even after selecting the gnome3 session , the icon on the login box is the same as the unity icon.
I found a way to make the icon backgrounds transparent for the Unity Launcher by changing the files under /usr/share/unity/4
Does anyone know how to make the background transparent for the dock itself? I already made it transparent under Compiz, but I want to remove the line that separates the dock from the desktop. If anything, I just want to make it look like the icons are floating.
NOTE: NOT CHROME WEB APPS... Unity Web Apps as introduced in 12.10...
When I make a Web App after installing the Chrome extensions for Unity Web Apps and Online Accounts, It opens a Web App in a new window... Seems fine.
However it makes two window icons on the Unity launcher even though only one window is open... Their is one with the app icon which is expected...
