Hello I am unable to connect to the Internet using a wired connection. I was able to use the wired network yesterday. But I had problems with the flash player, so had to reinstall Ubuntu again. I am able to connect to Internet using wireless connection. But I need to connect to the wired connection. I am using Ubuntu 10.
I'm rather new to Linux/Ubuntu and about to lose my religion figuring this one out.
I am unable to connect to the internet with ethernet in 10.04 64bit. Everything was working fine this morning, but when I booted up this evening, no connection.
In Network Connections, under the Wired tab, Auto eth0 reads Last Used: never. Also, Network Manager had created a new network, Wired Connection 1.
So, I have a wireless connection and I want to setup my linux box to share it with my LAN.
Sounds straight-forward, and I'd have no problem doing this setting up my router with DD-WRT as a bridge. However, the WiFi connection is an ad-hoc network using ICS through my Windows Mobile Verizon phone and the router won't connect to it.
I am having a problem connecting to wired connection from router. I used to have 11.10 where I tried to establish DSL connection. I tried it doing through the terminal using some pppoeconf commands.
When I reboot my system, under the Ubuntu loading sign, I saw messages like
configuring network; wait 60 seconds more for connection, etc.
Then after 2-3 minutes, Ubuntu home screen appears.
I have just installed ubuntu 10.04 using the wubi installer to dual-boot my machine. Under ubuntu, I am not able to connect to the internet or my router. Everything works fine under windows. I have tried to find relevant information in the forums, but nothing seems to work for me. I have tried disabling ipv6, setting a static ip, but no go.
The wired internet connection by default is configured properly in Ubuntu installation. We can directly dial-up via sudo pppoeconf, or connect to a cable which already on internet.
I have a dell latitude 2100 running ubuntu 11.1. Wireless internet works fine on it but wired connections do not. When I plug a ethernet cord in, it keeps on saying wired connection connected followed by disconnected. When I check the ethernet connection in the network part of system settings, it also keeps rapidly changing to on/off.
Hey guys,
Hopefully this is a quick and simple question.
I'm running F17 and I need to connect my machine to a local group of computers tied together with a network switch.
I'm having trouble to connect my Ubuntu 11.10 to internet through ethernet. I installed a router to get Wi-Fi and now (by a wired connection) I can't have internet with ubuntu (but I can with Windows 7).
