Hello people,From Thursday and been having a annoying bug with Xfce which is that it does not keep the settings screen resolution placed after a Shutdown / Restart.
I installed a copy of BackTrack 5 R2 (Ubuntu 10.04) to my HDD and dual-booted with Windows 7. After a bit of tweaking I set about updating the native Intel drivers because it was only allowing me to choose between 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions and I have a widescreen laptop.
Uninstalled current drivers, added the new repository, and updated the latest Intel drivers. Start X and voila!
Hi
How can I preserve the aspect ratio for my laptop whenever I run a game that runs outside the display's native resolution of 1366x768? It looks horrible when stretched. Also, how do I get the system to restore the native resolution once a game has been exited? It tends to stay at the resolution set by the game and I have to reset it manually. Thanks for any help.
Running Ubuntu 12.04 on an Acer Aspire x1200. Video chipset is an onboard NVIDIA GeForce 9200. I've looked everywhere on the web to figure out how to force it to run at 1366x768, which is the native for the Emerson LCD it's hooked up to.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 on my Macbook Air, which has a Nvidia Geforce 9400M videocard. I am using the restricted driver (185).
The problem is that I can use my Dell WFP2408WFP as external display but only with a resolution of 1600x1200 and not its native 1920x1200 resolution (which the Macbook Air does support).
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 on my Lenovo G575 (64 bit). I was using my computer with the 1366x768 display resolution. I changed the display resolution of my computer to the 800x600 yesterday, then I tried to return it back to 1366x768, but I couldn't. When I try to change resolution, it's getting dark and it crashes. Then nothing happens. So I need to restart to open my computer.
for whatever reason my TV via VGA tells my g7-1070us laptop that its max resolution is 1024x768. I somehow doubt this from the level of blurriness when I set it to this max resolution. I'd like to override this via xrandr but I don't know what the actual max resolution of the TV is. I've tried some random resolutions like 1366x760 but I often get a black screen when I try.
