[ubuntu] Ubuntu wireless does not work. but Win7 can work

In hostel, with hostel wifi(seems more unstable), Win7 can still access internet quite easily while ubuntu sometimes cannot access internet. It just cannot connect to the wifi. But there are also times when ubuntu can also connect to the hostel wifi, but most of the time, ubuntu wireless does not work. My Laptop is Thinkpad e40 0578B32 Ubuntu 12.10 in windows device manager, the wireless adapter shows "11b/g/n wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II" Google tells me it is actually (Hardware)

Hello all, I installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside Win7. I installed Broadcom STA wireless drivers from the additional drivers section in system settings.

I am able to connect to my school's wifi and my neighbor's wifi (i dont know the make of this modem) but not my wifi. I am using a 2wire modem which came with my AT&T uverse internet package.

I just installed my first Ubuntu desktop as a dual boot with Windows 7. I had to install without internet access because my wireless wouldn't connect, it's not possible to use a wired connection.

My usb WiFi adapter was bought off Ebay recently and says compatible with Linux...

I am severe wireless problems with Ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop.(Spec below)

I have just performed the first clean install since new. Installed a new Hard Drive as well. The machine and wifi was fine under Ubuntu 9.04.

It is booting much faster now but the wifi keeps dropping off.

Any assistance in resolving this would be appreciated as I use this machine for work.

When I run 3.3.8-1.fc16.i686, my wireless adapter works fine. When I select a more recent kernel (like 3.4.4 or 3.4.7) the wireless adapter doesn't work.

Airplane mode in enabled b default, and Wireless is set to off. Status says "unavailable".

So ever since i re installed windows 7 Ultimate i have been having trouble with my wireless and Ethernet. At first my windows was not working, that was solved by installing the proper drivers. After that my ubuntu 11.10 would not work. I downgraded to the 10.04 and it still would not work.

Hi everybody!It's been a while and I've decided to start using crunch bang again.

I am trying to run 10.04 netbook live from a memory stick with a view to installing it on my laptop. However although I can see my wireless router and connect to it I cannot access the internet. I have tried this on my laptop and desktop with the same result.
