Hello, Im trying to get my dual displays to work, and im not having any luck. Ive searched the forums and googled away, but havent found anything close to what im trying to fix.
I have a laptop and an external monitor, an Acer x193w.
after I upgraded to 12.04 my dual monitors stopped to work.
i have until recently been able to use the dual-monitor function but after restarting the computer i cant activate it again. *I must use Mirror displays or else i get the following error message:
required virtual size does not fit available size: requested=(2560, 1024), minimum=(320, 200), maximum=(1280, 1280)
How do i change the maximum(fix it) and how can i prevent this from happening again?
When I first installed 12.04 both monitors worked fine. I updated additional drivers and now I get this message.
With the proprietary driver of my Radeon graphics card activated, I tried to set up a two-monitor display arrangement ("show same image in both monitors" unchecked), but the system gave the following error message:
"Required virtual size (2560,1024) does not fit available size, min. 320,200 max.
I am trying to set up my tv with my laptop trough a VGA cable.
I just wiped Win7 and installed Ubuntu 12.10 on the laptop that I use as an HTPC. After I got everything set up, I plugged in my HDMI cable and went to Displays to try to turn on HDMI. No luck! Only my laptop is listed when I have HDMI connected.
xrandr doesn't see that the TV is connected. And when I go to Sound, it doesn't show any options for HDMI.
The TV is circa 2009-2010.
Hello Ubuntu world,
I am tiring to change my resolution to 1202x670. I have tried everything I found on the net from XrandR to ArandR even installed a package called Resolution Switcher, but to no avail. Now the reason I need such a bazaar resolution size is because I am running an old Samsung T.V.
So I've been wanting to switch back from win 7 to linux for a while now, and have decided to come back to fedora. The only problem is that i haven't been able to get my dual monitors setup correctly no matter what I try.
Here's my setup: 1440x900 dvi monitor and a 1920x1080 vga monitor, along with an ati radeon HD 7000 series card.
