Hi all
I have a weird problem. My Internet connection just seems to die after a few minutesof operation. If I reboot the desktop, or the wireless router or even just disconnect and reconnect the wireless network it seems to reset and internet works again for a while.
I know this is not an Ubuntu problem as it also happened under Windows XP.
I'm having troubles with my internet connection in ubuntu right now. Well, a few actually.
First, when I compare my speeds between ubuntu and Windows, I'm getting double my link speed on Windows than on ubuntu.
Second, my internet connection periodically drops. Usually when I'm downloading a large file or putting a large load on my connection.
Hi guys,
I am very new to linux, I have a dual boot system running ubuntu 12.04 and windows 7 on a Dell Latitude E6320. I have no problem connecting to the internet on windows 7. Also I have no problem with the wireless connection at university.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 yesterday. Internet worked fine after connecting wireless wifi in my university. But, I could not access internet at home after connecting to home wireless wifi. Pls note, I am getting message that connection is established, but could not access the internet.
Can any one please help me with this.
I'm new to ubuntu, and no very little of how it operates.
I downloaded and installed ubuntu 12.10 and everything seemed to work. My wireless connected without a hitch, but when I try to use an internet browser it won't load any pages.
I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I use Verizon Mobile Broadband (HP un2420) to connect to the Internet on the Windows side. When I use Ubuntu I can't access the Internet unless I use Barnes and Noble or some other WiFi offered from a local business. I do not understand why my Verizon access doesn't show in the wireless connections to choose from when I'm using Ubuntu.
I was going to post this in the Networking and Wireless forum, but I learned that this issue is specific to the Compaq Presario V2000, so it's more laptop related.
My internet works fine on Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit), I always connect via the built-in wireless, and never had a problem.
I'm trying to get consistent access to the internet on my Ubuntu 12.10 AMD_64 machine. Right now the connection is completely down, but sometimes it works. I am typing this on my Windows machine and all information is from memory since I can't post from Ubuntu.
I'm connecting using a wired connection.
There is wifi near my house which I use. It's an open wifi net but it requires login and password once I connects to it by redirecting to login page. Everything is ok because I have them because I pay for it.
The funny thing is that in Ubuntu it doesn't work good unlike in Windows.
