i know my question is already asked but all question old,
i am going to build myself PC case and i already bought Motherboard, 16GB ram, and power supple (850 Watt), but only thing that i am so confused about it, is Graphic card, i dont know what is BEST graphic card for linux/ubuntu 12.04LTS
i heard from different peoples telling me i should NOT buy NIVIDIA nor ATI because both of them have/has
It's 2 year I've started using ubuntu. In ubutnu 10.04 until ubuntu 11.10 anything was Ok with my Graphic card, But when I migrate to ubuntu 12.04 I had a corruption in my graphic card and I paid expert to repair it. It was Ok with ubuntu 12.04 in continuous but when I upgraded to ubuntu 12.10 I'm never able to install my nvidia.
I have always had trouble with my graphic on my dell dimension 4700. I change the screen resolution and that fix most of my problems but when I go into the details app on ubuntu it says for graphic unknown and for drivers unknown and experience standard. The status texts are always messed up, but now videos are messed up for youtube the sound keeps going but the picture freezes.
I've just migrated from one PC to another, and took my anicent NX8600 on the new machine (hey, beats the onboard graphics card! ;) ). I ran 11.04 on my old machine with the very same graphics card, but on the new machine, the system doesn't even recognize the card. Is there any way to find out
a) if the card is getting enough current from the power supply?
