I am having a problem since I upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to 13.10. I have an AMD A10 Cpu with an integrated Radeon HD 7660D video card. I also have a NVIDIA gtx 650. They worked and played well when I had Ubuntu 12.04 installed. I like the extra processing power that the APU gives, and it helps shoulder the load.
Alright, I've seen this plenty a time on these forums but none of the fixes I have seen have worked for me, so I will give as specific details as possible. My brightness won't change on my computer and the back-light is practically blinding, I can't look at it unless I'm in a very bright room or area. My computer is an Asus g74-sx A1, with ubuntu 12.04 LTS sideloaded onto the computer.
I have nvidia graphic card and i have ubuntu 14.04 and i,ve tried every method posted in forums to solve brightness problem. Its brightness is always on highest and the brightness metter is of no use and no driver nor propritery niether open source.
I have laptop Toshiba satellite l670 with Radeon HD 5650.
After installation ubuntu I installed all updates, restart the computer and install drivers to my graphics card using "Additional Drivers". All it's OK but now i can't change the brightness;/ It's not very important option i know. but sometimes i want change this settings.
