Hi all.
There's an exclamation point next to my wireless icon up at the top which concerns me. I've just installed Ubuntu 10.04 yesterday - absolutely love it.
The only problem is that I'm having trouble with staying connected to my wireless network...
When it is connected, there is an exclamation point next to the wireless icon.
I have an:
Ubuntu 12.04 with proprietary Boardcom STA Wireless driver installed
BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n wireless card
TP-LINK TD-W8101G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router
Yesterday before I went to sleep, I still connect to my wireless access point, this morning when I start my laptop I don't see it in the list - there are some neighbors listed but not mine.
The WLAN is green, with my old N
I have a Windows 7 laptop accessing the internet through Verizon wireless MIFI configured as 192.168.1.1. It supports only 5 wireless connections, so I don't want to use up connections unnecessarily. That laptop has an ethernet nic which I have given a static IP of 192.168.0.5.
I have a Samsung Chronos laptop...
I had just installed the 12.04 Ubuntu distro onto the laptop and connected to a wireless access point (note it is an apple AP). It worked fine. After running several days my distro did an update and afterwards the wireless seems to be working but it can neither find, nor connect back to the same access point.
I'm using the above LM006 micro usb adapter with a Compaq PC CQ1020uk. I'm attempting to connect with a Huawei E5830 Mifi.
The Mifi shows up on the connection panel, attempts to connect but never does. It keeps asking for the password over and over, never connecting each time after 10 seconds of trying.
I'm thinking of setting my Ubuntu server as a wifi access point so I can get rid of D-Link DIR-655 router.
I've tried 4 different PCI, PCI-E and USB adapters with no success.
I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I use Verizon Mobile Broadband (HP un2420) to connect to the Internet on the Windows side. When I use Ubuntu I can't access the Internet unless I use Barnes and Noble or some other WiFi offered from a local business. I do not understand why my Verizon access doesn't show in the wireless connections to choose from when I'm using Ubuntu.
I have an older model Sharp PCal27 with a Ralink RT2500 wireless LAN card. I have been able to connect previously to a linksys wireless network but I am not able to connect to a new Verizon Mifi 2200 card.
Any suggestions on setup would be appreciated.
I am able to connect to the Verizon card via a usb cable but not wireless.
I just installed 11.2 on a Compaq Evo N1000v.
This particular machine was used and had no wireless card in it.
I bought a Linksys usb connector. Opensuse shows it in the network app but it shows no activity at all and does not 'see' the wireless network in the location
so, I have an old Avaya wireless card goes into the side slot of the laptop.
