[ubuntu] Ubuntu 9.10 - Is Samba Configuration Still Necessary in 9.10?

http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm really confused with all the new printers setups available for Linux/Windows networks. I have my printer connected to my Linux desktop which is on the same network as all my Windows laptops and the laptops could print (via Samba) to the printer. All was working perfectly. Then I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 then to 9.10. Now I cannot print or see my shares anymore. 9.10 has a nice GUI for printer configuration under System>Administration>Printing that wasn't there in 8.10...so I went here to configure my printer. But, there is still the /etc/samba/smb.conf file out there that see (HowTos)
