Karmic Koala is using Grub 2, remastersys is designed for grub 1. Now Remastersys is redesigned for ubuntu 9.10 with grub 2 and it is working.
This simple trick will help you to install on your Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala all the backgrounds not included in the installation CD. The backgrounds were not included on the ubuntu CD for reason of space . if you want to install them just follow these steps :
