http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a problem printing from my Ubuntu 12.10 install. Initially printing to a Minolta 283 bizhub hanged the printer for some reason. I used the linux driver suppied by Konica Minolta. It workd in 11.10. Now I tried to install previous cups 1.5.4 instead. I removed cups 1.6 and manually built 1.5.4 from sources. This broke cups completely as it looked for folders that does not exist any more. So removed cups and tried to install 1.6 again. Now I am getting this error: Unsupported format "application/vnd.cups-banner". From the cups error log: Returning IPP cli (Hardware)

My CUPS worked fine all the time on my 9.04 Jaunty Jacklope box until I restarted it today.

Now my printing setup utility, "System"->"Administration"->"Printing" can detect and install printers via USB, LPT or IPP.

Hi, I use Ubuntu 9.10 on a lenovo T400. My printing seems to be suddenly broken. I connect to the network printer to print -- Using the printer configuration tool, I can connect to the cups server. However, clicking on Settings leads to the following error:

CUPS Server error There was an error during the CUPS operation: ''.

I have upgraded my 8.04 OS to 9.04 and all the printers are gone. I tried to connect to server from System->Administration->Printing and I get a message saying:

Code: "There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'httpConnectionEncrypt failed'." I then tried to start cups manually:

Anyone have problems installing printers? I cannot install any printer since I get errors about cups.
