but when I type sudo apt-get install --reinstall bcmwl-kernel-source it prompts that bcmwl-kernel-source could not be downloaded!Any suggestions?I m trying for this wireless issue some days now and I cannot fix it,please help,cause I m new to linux,and OSystems in
I am running a double partition, Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10. After the install I cannot get the wireless to work in the Ubuntu partition. I have tried a couple of different troubleshooting suggestions, but none of them have worked.

I am working in Ubuntu 8.04.....I have my Acer laptop...My wireless card as i found by the command,
$ lshw -C network is Intel/PRO/Wireless 3945abg
and driver module is iwl3945....
i had no problem with wireless for somedays...few days back i am not able to connect into wireless...
The wired internet connection by default is configured properly in Ubuntu installation. We can directly dial-up via sudo pppoeconf, or connect to a cable which already on internet.
